Kids sometimes simply amaze you. On the road today, Sid exclaimed, papa dekho taxi. It was a radio cab, and we thought he identified it by the yellow box on the top, having been in meru cabs in last few days. Then he started pointing out more taxis, all without that box, and of different makes, and correctly differentiated between cars and taxis.

Latest in convincing technique:
Sid: Mummy/papa xyz kar do (xyz = anything he wants to do at the moment, eg, listening to a story)
We: [Ignore]
Sid: Please kar do ....
We: [Ignore]
Sid: "Please" bol to raha hoon, ab to kar do!

Sid has learnt grammer, but the concept of language is still not learnt. So, few months back "baals" and "unglis" made perfect sense to him, and now "dogo.n" and "shoeso.n" are valid words in his vocab. :-)

why do kids fall for all the typical item songs? Even if they can't pronounce the lyrics, let alone understand :-) Moving on from 'munni' and 'sheila', his current favorites are 'jalebi bai' and but, of course, 'character dheela hai'!

One of Sid's recent favorite songs is 'character dheela hai', and he can be seen running around singing the line 'main karoon to da-da-da character dheela hai (since he hasn't yet learnt the actual word here). Yesterday he added another line to it (obviously learnt from a daycare friend): "main karoon to da-da-da pajama geela hai ..." :P
